The Used Announce Upcoming Album

The Used have announced they will be releasing their seventh studio album titled, The Canyon due out October 27th on Hopeless Records. Produced by Ross Robinson (The Cure, At The Drive In), the 17-track album is the most raw, unadulterated and personal piece of art the band has ever released.

The Canyon will take fans on a lyrical journey through the intimate psyche of Bert McCracken.

"I've learned as an artist that a great idea is such a gift. If I don't stop whatever it is I'm doing, even if while driving, if I don't pull over at that moment, then maybe I didn't deserve the idea to begin with. I learned to respect and worship the ideas in that way, that they are and will always be something sacred. Stopping in that moment was a brand new approach for us during this process" says McCracken.

Neck Deep Announces Highly Anticipated Album

unnamed.jpg

Well known UK Pop Punkers Neck Deep have announced their upcoming studio album, The Peace and The Panic, which will be released on August 18th via Hopeless Records

The 11 track release, which was produced by Mike Green(previous works included bands such as Pierce the Veil and Paramore) is described by the band to be “a meditation on the constant duality of life and the struggles that come with it. It comes blessed with an acknowledgement that seizing the day and having a laugh with your mates is important, but so is the personal growth that comes with pain and existential crisis.” Additionally,, vocalist Ben Barlow had this to say about the album, "It's not all 'Let's have a party and grab a beer' this time, but I wouldn't say it's pessimistic, just realistic. Trying to make something of your life is a big theme on this record, as is dealing with depression and anxiety. We've all found ourselves in the last few years and grown up a bit. I've had to do a lot of soul-searching and maybe I've been hardened by life a little bit, but I feel ready to take on the world again, just in a different way."

The Peace And The Panic - Track Listing:
1. Motion Sickness
2. Happy Judgement Day
3. In Bloom
4. 19 Seventy Sumthin'
5. Parachute
6. Don't Wait (ft. Sam Carter)
7. Heavy Lies
8. Critical Mistake
9. The Grand Delusion
10. Wish You Were Here
11. Where Do We Go When We Go

The first two singles from the album, already debuted on the Radio 1 Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter, are “Where Do We Go When We Go” and “Happy Judgement Day” are currently available for listening and videos for the songs can be watched here and here

Look out for the release on August 18th and be sure to hear these songs and other fan favorites this year on Vans Warped Tour, which the band will be headlining for the entire summer!

Of the new single, “Puzzle Pieces,” Broadside front-man Ollie Baxxter says, “As I’m getting older and the band progresses, we’re being put into situations where we have the opportunity to reach a wider audience. Do we take advantage of those opportunities or stay true to who we are and express our ideals? Eventually you must ask yourself, at what cost does this come? Do I edit myself or do I speak the harsh reality of the creative industry? Puzzle pieces – it takes one piece to either start or finish an entire piece of art.”

That strong statement also fits pretty well with the theme of the Paradise album as a whole. Broadside worked with bands like New Found Glory and All Time Low to build Paradise, and they are extremely proud of the album, saying that it’s “the sound we have been trying to achieve our whole career.”

Until the album drops (preorder it now), you can listen to “Puzzle Pieces” on repeat, and get your tickets for the nearest stop on the tour. Keep up with Broadside on social media for more announcements.

Youth In Revolt Unleash New Music Video

Youth In Revolt, a Jersey-based five-piece rock outfit, is gearing up to release their much-anticipated debut album, The Broken, on January 20th, 2017 on Outerloop Records. Fans have eagerly waited for this album, and to whet their appetite, the band has released a new music video for the album's title track “The Broken.”

The band has been on a rise recently after their popular covers of Lorde's “Royals” and Elle Goulding's “Something In The Way You Move” gained them attention with fans, and their 2015 EP, Love Is A Liar's Game, was a success.

Youth In Revolt's vocalist, Tanner Allen, said the following about the new song: "'The Broken' is the title track for our debut record. We chose to name the record The Broken because the track is a great summary of what we were striving for, both thematically and musically, on the album. The song, in particular, is about finding your way in a world that you don't understand or fit into, and finding strength, despite what the general population may tell you! It's a call to arms in a way, our way of saying to come together and find strength in numbers to make it through this rollercoaster of a world that we live in. This is especially important now as our country goes through this absolutely perplexing election campaign that we're in the midst of. It's paramount that we think for ourselves right now as the divided population is shoving their own opinions down our throats. Musically, this song is a chaotic and powerful rock song. We want people to hear this song and feel like they are a part of a movement with us!"

Fittingly, the video is being released in the aftermath of the recent Election season, and the theme of the album and the title track fits right in with the mindset of the world right now.

You can watch the brand-new music video for “The Broken” right here!

Pre-orders and merchandise packages can be purchased here. Digital pre-orders with "The Broken" available for instant download will be live on Friday, November 11, 2017. Visit Outerloop.Group for more information!

Singer/Songwriter Alexander Unveils Details For Debut EP

On July 7th, Nashville-based singer/songwriter, Alexander announced the release date of his new debut self-titled EP!

Alexander is ecstatic to release five pure pop tracks filled with genre-bending sounds. With the ability to adapt and create a sound that molds various decades and sounds together he is able to create something similar to Jason Derulo with a hint of Nick Jonas's pop tunes, and as much passion and honesty as The Weeknd.

The self-taught Nashville-based musician, Alexander, has been writing and performing music for the last decade and is stepping out as a solo artist for the first time in his career. His lyrics tackle struggle, happiness, and relationships.

“I want my listeners to relate with me through my struggles, and also through my happiness. I want them to know that they’re loved and to give them hope.”  He continues, "I love writing stories, but I definitely write mostly about things that are happening in my life. It helps me cope with the problems I'm facing. Not just to complain about them, but putting them on paper sometimes helps me deal with them."

The debut EP is set to release August 12 and features Christian Fiore, Brittany Lane, Thomas Bracciale, and Brooke Williams as co-writers.

Kayo Dot Streams Album Early

Ever-changing and experimenting band Kayo Dot is about to release their newest full-length LP, Plastic House on Base of Sky.

Kayo Dot has never settled on a specific type of sound. Each and every one of their releases are radically different, ranging through genres such as chamber music, progressive black metal goth, jazz and avant-garde classical.

They are masters of experimentation and this new LP still holds true to that. In Plastic House on Base of Sky, 5 songs over 40 minutes explore the themes of futuristic noir with a vintage electronic sound, filled with rezzed-out synthesizers and ambiance tones. There is a cyberpunk tone to this record, filled with visions of decaying mechanic concepts and mysterious darkness hiding around every corner.

Which is great news because even though the album releases this Friday from The Flenser, it is currently available for early streaming over on Noisey!

Check out Kayo Dot over on Facebook for more updates and head over to The Flenser this Friday to purchase the album!

In Letter Form Release Album

In Letter Form just recently released their new album Fracture. Repair. Repeat. The album features ten tracks, each one delivering the promise of In Letter Form's excellent throwback post-punk sound. The band is reminiscent of Joy Division, Bauhaus, and Echo & The Bunnymen, blending a few different styles of post-punk in a new and creative way.

The album goes through an emotional place. While writing the album, the band was dealing with the recent suicide of one of the member's girlfriend and the death of his best friend. The band was able to process their loss together in this creative output. The Hook will be reviewing Fracture. Repair. Repeat. soon, so stay tuned!

The lead single, “Face In The Crowd,” is available to check out on Soundcloud. The song is rocking and psychedelic. It's a great lead single to describe the overall sound of the album.

Adrian Daniel Premiers New Album

New York, home of the big apple and domicile of dreams breeds a new alternative soul singing sensation, Adrian Daniel. He proudly premiere’s his album Disillusions. The 15-track collection is a creative weaving of modern & post 1970 R&B instrumentals coated with the synthetic sounds of his vocals. The album released on iTunes on April 1, 2016, and reflects heavy influence from Kanye West, Bob Dylan, Jay Z, and Cold Play.

Work from the Brooklyn born artist has made a bit of a splash in the music pool and has generated acclaim and support from Spotify, TIDAL Discovery, Complex, Vibe, The Fader, as well as Okayplayer; but, the list goes on.

After the rise and fall of a band that he started called L.D.C, Daniel committed to pursuing a solo career and prides himself on having an unbreakable work ethic and trying vigorously to impact world with his music.

He stated: "Music is everything we hope life would be... At least that's what I believe. That's what I've tried to do with this album: with the storytelling, sonics and everything. I just think that's the purpose of art, to push. I wrote this album to move past all the anger I had with myself and people... to keep from going insane at points in my life. Making this album was a labor of love for me. I never had to do anything this difficult in my life... but it was gratifying though. I learned so much in the process."

You can listen to the full stream of Disillusions here.

Andrea Nardello Releases New Track

Andrea Nardello - a folk artist based out of Philadelphia, PA (represent) recently released a new track after making the announcement for her upcoming EP, Fire!

Fire is expected out on April 15th via Noble Steed Music. As Nardello's latest project she's released the title track, "Fire" in anticipation! The artist partnered with AfterEllen for an exclusive premier of the track!

Meanwhile, Nardello had this to say about her release, "When I wrote 'Fire' I thought about life and how often you need to pick yourself back up after being broken. Andrea has been busy touring in support of her EP, entitled ECHO, opening for Brandi Carlile, Tony Lucca, Gabe Dixon, Ron Pope, and Emerson Hart of Tonic fame. Andrea's refined accessibility draws from folk, rock, soul, and even the swagger of hip-hop. Hiding Out Announces EP

We're excited to share that New Jersey's Hiding Out has announced the details of their upcoming EP!

The news comes after their most recent release in January, "Light Me Up." A tangy, catchy song that makes the jersey come out in anyone, especially me. The song is reminiscent of warm summer nights in the salty air, and impressively totes lyrics, vocals, and instrumental coordination that listeners can easily get lost into. If you aren't listening to it, you should be listening to it - bottom line.

After its release, the single became available on Spotify to stream, as well as for purchase on iTunes. "Light Me Up" received a great deal of success from listeners, and if it proves anything about Hiding Out it proves that their upcoming EP, Vena Cava, is going to be a collection of tracks you need to be on the look out for.

Track listing:
1. Dry Heat
2. Light Me Up
3. Vena Cava
4. Ghosts In The Backseat

Vena Cava is expected to drop on April 1st, and will contain 4 tracks, one of which being "Light Me Up." You can check out the tracklist above for the inside scoop on the tracks! Expect waves to be made with this release, and we're already itching with anticipation.

Hiding Out is comprised of Joe Dicamillo (guitar), Bryan Little (bass), John McManus (vocals), and Kevin Sardy (drums). The group has been quickly gaining momentum thanks to "Light Me Up," and will also be playing a ton of gigs and amping up fans in preparation for their debut EP - and I have "Light Me Up," on repeat until then!
