Ep Release

New EP From Natalie Lain

Back on January 10th, PA's Natalie Lain released her self-titled EP. Having been picked up in late 2016 by Switchbitch Records and taken under the wing of former Venetia Fair member (RIP - but they were super dope and influential, check them out) and Switchbitch founder Michael Abiuso, Natalie was able to write and record a solid debut effort. Reflecting on the album, Lain considered the work a short compilation of her early work as a musician and a culmination of several, varied influences.

She commented:

"My niche as a musician is constantly becoming clearer to me, yet always expanding. I love grunge, jazz, metal, edm, and rock n roll. I see myself incorporating all of that which inspires me into my future work and did my very best to incorporate it into this album. I could not be more grateful to be a part of this wild and crazy world full of art and full experiences to be had and shared. Music is truly everything."

This blend of influences is prevalent throughout the EP, wherein Natalie employs some of the best elements of those previously mentioned genres - she jumps from funky jazz to typical singer-songwriter elements, to indie/alternative rock to pop and more. This tasteful utilization and mix of genres made for a polished, well-produced debut effort, which in my view, suggests a promising career ahead for the young musician. I'm intrigued to see what direction she goes if she decides to write/record a full length album and if she decides to continue working with Mr. Abiuso in the future, since he seemingly held a strong influence in the EP's musical direction.

Even through lineup changes, the band is heartfelt to gain quick access to music lovers everywhere. With a newfound sound that can be matched by no other, one listen to All That Matters and the listener will see what they have been missing out on. With the band shooting for the stars, it shouldn't take much before they are a household name around the world.

"In an era of failed relationships, one sided friendships and a surplus of selfish people who are only out to get what they need from others without the effort of giving what they get, we introduce "Old Flame." For anyone who has dealt with a situation where they have put in tons of work and effort to maintain their status to another person and got nothing in return, this song is for you. We believe that people from all walks of life can relate to the message in this song.” - Jeremy Muse (Guitarist)

If you’re a fan of the Van’s Warped Tour, you may be familiar with a pop punk band from New York called From States Away!

The band has just completed their second EP, Hypervigilant, which was produced by Chris Piquette, and have also recently shared the first single off the record called, “Fight Or Flight.”

"'Fight or Flight' is the introduction to the story of 'Hypervigilant'," says vocalist Chris Lauletti. "It depicts the initial journey a person begins to go through when they start to feel anxiety/depression for the first time. We shot the video over a span of two days with Alex Tuttle from Idealist Media Services, who we've worked with in the past. We attempted to capture the energy of our live performances, and utilize time manipulation to communicate the lonely feeling that often comes with the beginning of that initial journey. "

The band formed shortly before winning a Warped Tour battle in Hartford, and their band name alludes to the fact that the members come from a few states away from one another. They have released an energetic video for their new single and are excited to share their newest EP with fans!

HEIRSOUND Releases Music Video Off New EP

HEIRSOUND just released a new music video from their upcoming EP, Merge. The video is for “Hoods Up.” Each song from Merge represents a different color and mood. “Hoods Up” represents Purple, and that is reflected in the video.

You can check it out right here!

HEIRSOUND says about their new single, "'Hoods Up' is not about one particular incident as it is more about describing a particular feeling. The chorus says 'We've got our hoods up' & it means just that. That mood where you put on a big sweatshirt and headphones & zone out away from everyone. The darkest song on the EP, 'Hoods Up' is lyrically sad, yet melodically beautiful & we are both very happy with how it turned out."

Merge is set to release on 8/5/16. You can pre-order the album right here on iTunes!

You can also watch the previously released music videos for the singles “My Own” and “Do It Over”!

Alexa Wilding Announces New EP and Video

Psychedelic-folk singer-songwriter Alexa Wilding will be releasing her new EP “Wolved” on July 8th.

This album was co-produced by Tom Beaujour, known for his work with Nada Surf, Julianna Hatfield, and The Mountain Goats. The songs visit a time before she heard the earth shattering news that one of her newborn twins would be battling cancer. While her son beat the illness, Alexa wrote eerie songs on a borrowed toy piano at the hospital while he underwent treatment.

The songs she wrote helped her maintain her sanity, and both her and her son overcame the ordeal together. Wilding explains, "It was fight or flight. Instead of running away I retreated into song, to memory, making peace with the past so I could step up, 'do like the wolves do,' and fight for my family's future." You can watch the music video for "Eden" below.

Upcoming Shows:

May 16 - Mercury Lounge - New York, NY w/ Domino Kirke

July 11 - Rockwood Music Hall - New York, NY (EP Release Show) w/ Annie Hart (of Au Revoir Simone)

Wolves Tracklist:

01. Wolves

02. Eden

03. Road Song

04. Stars

05. Black
