LKFFCT Share 'Hatchling' From Upcoming LP

Just a few days ago, LKFFCT shared their lead single off of their upcoming full-length, Dawn Chorus. The album is due out October 6th via Sniffling Indie Kids, and is a widely anticipated album - as LKFFCT have made a name for themselves quickly in basements and small sweaty spaces alike.

The track premiered on All Things Go where the band detailed, "'Hatchling' is the first song that we wrote for the new record & has been a staple in our live set for over a year now. The song is about maturation and learning to empathize with those who may not share the same life experiences or ideals."

Stream it down below!

Dawn Chorus is set to be the band’s most expansive record yet, not only in length but in the use of wide-ranging instruments, genres, and topics laid out across the album’s 38 minutes. LKFFCT are definitely going for it.

The band has a few shows coming up in the area, so check those out if you're into these cool dudes so you can check them out live!

Off the forthcoming EP, the band released single "So Punk"about the struggles of working artists and while times may seem tough, to never give up living out one's dream. Following the release of "So Punk" they unleashed "Karma," a classic revenge-breakup song.

The band expands on their forthcoming EP, by stating, "We believe that this EP is the best of Shatterproof. We have been a band for almost 6 years and have written so many songs. But this EP is what Shatterproof is about, our favorite songs we have written so far. It is painting a picture of the direction we want to go, how we want to write songs and what kind of band we want to be. Having the opportunity to put this EP out through Revival Recordings is huge for us. This EP is some old stuff for older fans, and some new stuff for everyone, and as a package we couldn't be happier with it."

In anticipation of their upcoming EP, Mock Pop, Pittsburgh trio Honey are streaming their newest single "Drag Dealer" to hype it up! Mock Pop, the group's debut on Wild Kindness Records, combines dreamy guitars, slick songwriting, catchy melodies, and a punk rock sensibility.

Check out "Drag Dealer" below!

Mock Pop was written while the group was spread out through Cleveland and Pittsburgh, and serves as a cohesive piece of music that will be the "soundtrack to your summer." The record was tracked in a desolate cabin in Virginia, and mixed at Mr. Smalls Recording Studio!

Julian Fulton Releases EP, 'Battered Receptions'

Just after the release of the single “Rosie’s Disposition,” which I loved, Julian Fulton has released the full EP Battered Receptions. A solo project offset from his band The Zombie Gospel, Battered Receptions is Julian Fulton’s solo exploration into his own musical abilities, and it sounds like another success. Fulton previously released 2 other solo EP’s, but Battered Receptions proves to be the strongest. With tracks like “Rosie’s Disposition” and “Howl,” Fulton exhibits a strong solo presence that sets him apart from his previous work with The Zombie Gospel.

The 5-track EP is one worthy of listening to more than once. Check out the full track list streaming below!

Julian will be stopping close to home on an upcoming tour date in New Hope, so if you’re interested in seeing him live, stop by John & Peter’s on the 20th of this month to watch his performance.

5/20 – John & Peter’s – New Hope, PA

Battered Receptions is available for streaming now, so head to Julian Fulton’s Bandcamp and listen to it as many times as you can before you get tired of it. And then listen to it some more. “Rosie’s Disposition” is definitely my favorite track, but all the songs are worthy of attention.

The Unlikely Candidates Announce February EP

The new year is off to an exciting start, and with that The Unlikely Candidate joins the likes of many others with their announcement for their upcoming EP, Bed Of Liars!

The EP is due out February 17th, via Another Century Records, and will serve as the band's label-debut and features six danceable, indie-infused alt-rock tracks. Vocalist Kyle Morris explains, "Bed Of Liars is the first time the band truly defined itself in sound. It also marks the departure from observations on humanity to introspections on being human. The messiness, contradictions, and compromises of love are unraveled between life's tangled sheets of grey, as the band's focus shifts from the head to the heart."

Check out the tracklist below!

Bed Of Liars Tracklist:
1. Best Things in Life Aren't Free

JW Sargent Releases New Music Video

Having released "Run" as a single to promote his debut EP, In RetrogradeJW Sargent, has now put out a music video for that very track. It features the David Beckham look-a-like wandering through the woods cut with shots of him singing in a dimly lit room, illuminated only by a retro lightbulb.

The music video teeming with edge can be viewed below!

"Run" is indicative of the solid effort put forth by JW Sargent with In Retrograde - just with this track alone, his songwriting skills and attention to detail are evident not only throughout the song, but also within the visuals established. In his interview with Artist Direct, JW reflected on "Run":

"I wrote 'Run' during a particularly crazy period in my life. There was so much going on and I felt like I was working so hard but not seeing any tangible progress. This made me think back to when times felt more simple and life wasn't as complicated and chaotic. We tried to represent this idea in the video, directed by Taylor DeYoung, with the juxtaposition of dark confinement and bright, open nature.

The video tries to showcase the journey out of this symbolic prison of sorts to a place of freedom and simplicity in which the pulsing light is a representation of the force or motivation to chase this desire. We came up with the concept for the video and shot around the time Stranger Things was released and wanted to incorporate an element from the show. We thought that their use of lights as a medium between two worlds would be really cool since we were trying to make a similar comparison."

Now as you sit there with a deeper understanding of the inspiration behind "Run" and a newfound love for JW, you can find the rest of the EP here.

Otherwise, keep up with him on his social media!

Nominee Announce New EP & Release Single

Nominee is gearing up for their 2017 release of Drag Me Out, which is due out January 26th. The EP was produced and recorded by Kory Gables (Major League, I Call Fives, Born Without Bones) and mastered by Bill Henderson with all pre-production by Joseph Milligan of Anberlin.

Nominee also "Stay" which is being premiered exclusively with idobi Radio, a song about Chris's first diagnosis with Bipolar disorder at the tender age of 17 and how his medication wasn't making him feel himself. The song talks about the relationships that were ruined because of what he was going through and what it was like the moment he stopped taking his medication and how he has been ferociously dealing with the issue.

Mclelland expands of the overarching theme of Drag Me Out"The record is about admitting that you're not okay and trusting someone enough to tell them. We collaborate on all of our songs. Usually one of us will bring an idea to the table to get the wheels turning and we'll go from there. Musically, Drag Me Out is a reflection of who we are as a band."

Dry Jacket Drops Brand New Single

unnamed.png

You cant help but feel like you’re waking up in your contemporary Brooklyn apartment just before you have to work a 16 hour shift to make rent. They’ve incorporated horns that replace a rhythm guitar part nice and snug.

Dry Jacket recently shared their newest track off of their upcoming EP! "Two Toasters" comes off of the highly anticipated full-length, For Posterity. It’s a fun song on the better end of the usual hipster hard-indie spectrum. The track sounds very well mastered for a local NJ band, and has a bridge that makes you contemplate that one errand you've been putting off.

Check out the video below to see if it works for you!

This is only a lyric video but perhaps the future video will begin with someone stepping off a porch onto a busy sidewalk before they get themselves into a bunch of yuppie shenanigans. Unfortunately, this isn’t as good as it should be.

The reason being that the vocals stay in an underwhelming middle range and sound like their too heavily supported by the wet guitar fills. They’re dancing on the line of being just another forgettable indie band, so a change of vocals/singers might do them good.

Still, be sure to check them out, their EP drops on Jan 13th and hopefully we’ll see them take advantage of that promising sound.

Singer-Songwriter Alex Di Leo Announces Release of Debut EP

Alex Di Leo - 70s car.JPG

Florida-based singer-songwriter, Alex Di Leo, recently announced the release of his debut EP, So We Go, due out November 4th. To give listeners a taste, Alex dropped “Make it Easier,” a single off the work, which you can stream below!

The 6-track effort is Alex’s first venture as a solo artist after his band, Wyld Fly, parted ways in 2014. Interestingly enough, this EP is the culmination of about 5 separate productions – apparently the first 4 sessions didn’t quite nail the sound Di Leo hoped to achieve.

However, the tireless effort is apparent as Alex brings to the table a light and polished indie pop sound that makes for easy listening. His sound brings to mind bands like Coldplay, The Fray, Arcade Fire, etc.

With a strong single like “Make it Easier” at the forefront, it will be interesting to hear how the rest of the EP sounds in comparison. However, we’ll have to wait until November to hear the rest. But in the meantime, you can keep up with Alex Di Leo on:

I The Mighty Make Big Announcements

Oil In Water is the title of the newly announce EP from San Francisco based alt rockers, I, The Mighty. The EP is set for release on September 2nd, days before the band's exciting fall tour with Dayshell, Artifex Pereo, and Picturesque!

Arranging and recording this EP was a ton of fun and allowed us the opportunity to explore a wide range of musical styles that we hadn't before as a band. The first release is a predominantly a cappella version of “Andrew's Song,” a track that never quite received the spotlight we wanted it to have."

Must Be The Holy Ghost Announces New Ep & Tour

Alt-electronic artist Must Be The Holy Ghost, the solo endeavor of North Carolina native Jared Draughon, has announced that his new EP Overflow will be released on September 16th via Cardigan Records.

Here's the video for the single "Melt Down"

"I think of 'Overflow' largely as an extension of 'Get Off'," Draughon says. "I've been playing songs like 'Forest,' 'All Night,' and 'Melt Down' live for over a year while touring to support the first record. They were all written shortly after 'Get Off' was released, but it took awhile before I recorded them. Playing the songs in so many different venues and situations helped me figure out how they should be recorded to find a balance between a studio sound with a live feel."

The video for "Melt Down" showcases Draughon's signature live performance in which visual artist Evan Hawkins uses water and food-coloring on an overhead projector to paint the show in swirling colors. Pre-order Overflownow on iTunes or get your hands on a limited-run vinyl version athttp://www.cardiganrecords.com. Check out some of the dates below to see the show live.

Dark Avenue Releases New Full Length Album

Dallas Fort Worth sons, Dark Avenue, released their first full length album Illusions and it is killer.

Comprised of Mario Cadena (Vocals), Barry Lorberbaum (Guitar), Andrew Lewethwaite (Guitar), Alan Sauls (Bass), and Jeff Hathcock (Drums), these guys originally formed Dark Avenue as a side project. They wanted to create a bridge between the heavier acts in their community. If you like groups such as Stone Sour or Breaking Benjamin, these guys are for you.

After releasing their first EP, Seasons Change, and opening up for groups like Red Sun Rising and Pop Evil, they wanted to make their first full length album and get a larger following. That album titled, Illusions, is now available for download. With such tracks as No Answers and Spanish Radio personally, they give me a Shinedown feel. With the heavy metal spine, the band is able to create a heavy sound but still have something everyone can sing along to.

Illusions tracklist

1. Illusions (Intro)

2. No Answers

3. Outside

4. Everything is an Illusion

5. Forget You

6. Spanish Radio

7. Una Vez Mas

8. Maybe Tomorrow

9. Sonic Illusions

10. God Made You Man

11. Premonitions

12. Last to Know

13. Wasted

14. Illusions (Ring of Fire)

15. Someday

16. Outside

Their music is often described as an uncontrollable flame and I'd have to agree. With the help of Breakout Artist Management and gaining exposure through SXSW Austin Music Week, this group is ready to be with the heavy hitters of their respected genre. No Jogging For Today Releases New Single

Let’s be honest... you probably haven’t heard of French alternative hardcore band No Jogging For Today before. Well I’m here to tell you that this is a damn shame, because I hadn’t either until I was jolted, defibrillator-style, to life by their lead single “Sick”.

What can one draw from their sound, exactly? Sure, it isn’t your run-of-the-mill brand of aggression, that which simply seeks to pummel its listeners in an ocean of sound akin to being in the center of a crowded push pit in a small space. Rather, it feeds off a rawness similar to KEN mode or Every Time I Die, one which feels at once more light-hearted and more self-aware than the average hardcore band but... still manages to kick in your teeth when all is said and done.

“Sick” has been released ahead of the band’s upcoming La Flemme EP, and as the opening track, it introduces listeners to a leaner, meaner No Jogging For Today than what could be heard off debut EP Chef De Vigne, which came out in February. It can be purchased via iTunes. It's pacing is pulverizing, and though it feels more cohesive than most hardcore, it still preserves the unbridled fury and foot-stomping intensity which courses through every vein, every single capillary, of NJFT’s music. Take a look for yourself below:

The band, which consists of the colorfully named Lio on vocals, Alx Bizar and J.phi on guitar, Claudius on bass, and Flo on drums, is gearing up to release their EP in excitement. Says guitarist Bizar of La Flemme and “Sick”:

We recorded the EP at this studio near Nantes with Damien Bolo and we feel this new single sets off this crazy energy and sound that is as powerful as if you were in rehearsal with us. This is a perfect representation of our forthcoming EP that is releasing later this month.

La Flemme Track List:

1. Sick
2. Body
3. Evil
4. Sodom
5. Michel

Make sure to give big ups to French badasses! They drench every inch of their music with passion, and who knows? At this rate, they could end up anywhere in a year’s time. Therefore, don’t slack! Follow them on their Facebook, and keep up with the latest NJFT news. As always, stay tuned for more French fist-pumping ferocity!

Jaeger Wells Unveils New Video

Houston, TX/Tucson, AZ | June 7, 2016 - It doesn't always take a 5-piece band to bring a true rock sound to life, and indie singer/songwriter Jaeger Wells proves that. Focused determination shines through in his 2015 release of Fever Dream Anthology EP, an Ace Enders-produced project, that featured five positively charming anthems with a punchy rock undertone. Today, Jaeger Wells is thrilled to unveil a cover of Justin Timberlake's shiny new summer smash "Can't Stop The Feeling" under the video direction of Gerald Reihsen. Check it out below.

Ecclesiast Announce Self-Titled EP & Release Debut Single

Photography:  ©Eichelberger Photography 2016     www.EichPhoto.com

Photography: ©Eichelberger Photography 2016 www.EichPhoto.com

Missouri metalcore quartet Ecclesiast has not only announced a forthcoming self-titled EP, but has paired this announcement with their debut lyric video of their biting new single “High Horse." The EP, coming out on June 24th through Sancrosanct Records, is available for pre-order via iTunes.

“High Horse” is a charged, streamlined ride through the Ecclesiast sound, featuring crushingly rough assaults of abrasive riffage paired with an interestingly anthemic chorus. Says vocalist Joseph Smith of the single: “In my eyes, I see the path that's laid before in my heart and I know what is wrong and right. High Horse. This quote means something personal that I went through and questioning my own decisions through how other people felt. This whole song basically is about being the person that God wants you to be and not what man wants you to be.”

Check it out below!

Smith, along with guitarist Tyler Cobillas and drummer Nick Magasano, are going in a more personal direction with their brand of Christian metalcore, which is refreshing in a genre that has by and large seen its glory days come and go.

They have been playing shows non-stop for a while now, and they have no plans on stopping, with shows for the 4th, 11th, and even July 17th with fellow metalcore acts It Lies Within and In Dying Arms, as part of their larger Fight The Parasite tour. Don’t miss out!

Be sure to keep up with the band on social media so you can see when they’ll be through your area. This group is killing it right now, so sleeping on them is not an option!

As always, stay tuned for more!

Photography: Felipe Gomez & Kenny Lewis

The Stolen, a pop-rock band based out of New Jersey consisting of Dom Cuce, Rob Chiarappa, Kevin Smart, and Mike Chiarappa are setting out on the I’m So Dead tour with Mike Schiavo in support of their new record!

The tour starts July 3rd in Boston and will make it’s way down the east coast. The band's EP, I’m So Dead, premiered on TWIST magazine back in April. The 5 song EP has a heavy 90’s influence while still being modern pop and R&B, and features lead single “Can’t Get Enough”.

If you like bands like The 1975, The Maine, and The Summer Set then you will definitely like The Stolen, with hooks and lyrics sure to get stuck in your head! The band says they wanted to create a record that grooves musically, but also expresses the personal and drastic changes that they had gone through this past year.

This album is drenched in personality while being nostalgic and melancholy all at the same time. You can now stream the EP on TWIST MAGAZINE and check out the music video for “Can’t Get Enough” here!
