'Float Around' Out Now Via Coldfront In Anticipation Of New Album

Canadian pop-punk band Coldfront recently shared their brand new single "Float Around"today via idobi Radio.

"Float Around" is the title track from the band's forthcoming album, which will be released on October 6th. It marks the band's debut full length on Equal Vision Records, and can be pre-ordered now.

Check out "Float Around" below!

On the new track, guitarist Chris Casarin shares: "' Float Around' is one of my favourite tracks on our new record and I think it really captures the new direction Coldfront is heading in. This song started as something completely different - it was a fast and chaotic song at first but with a little studio magic we made it into something special. 'Float Around' is a song about a shitty break up and and trying to hold on to something that will never work."

Benjamin Muñoz Releases Single, 'Melle'

Buckle up! Canadian electronic artist Benjamin Muñoz recently put out his first-ever single entitled "Melle". Containing elements of choppy jazz piano, vocal sampling and subtle bass grooves, the track serves as the ideal listen for your midnight commute home. But for those who dislike pretentious descriptions of music, "Melle" is basically what you'd hear during those witty, black background/white text Adult Swim commercial breaks.

You can stream Muñoz's "Melle" below:

According to Benjamin, "Melle" is just the beginning as it is a tease of his upcoming (release date/title TBA) EP. This is exciting as the track shows Muñoz's prowess as an electronic producer with his clear attention to detail and ability to layer various sounds ranging from piano samples to percussion without clutter - a skill many amateurs fail to master and thus, release messy tracks bound to make you cringe and not "fuck with the vision".

So while you eagerly anticipate Benjamin Muñoz's upcoming EP release and your Adidas windbreaker to come in the mail, you can keep up with the bloke on:

Billy Moon Streams New Music Video

Hamilton, ON, Canada's Billy Moon, recently released the lyric video for his single "Different Song (Same Girl)". It features a nice, wide-angle shot of a gorgeous (and presumably Canadian) woman gazing into the camera while drawing from her cigarette in slow motion. As the Canadian sun sets in the background, this mystery smoker woman occasionally casts longing looks in the distance; perhaps deep in thought as to what decisions in her life led to this moment. You can peep the video below:

"Different Song (Same Girl)" is a track off Moon's recent EP release That Which You Can't Throw AwayThe single itself, with its chorus-riddled guitar work, brings me back to the 80's and provides for easy listening. It's a nice, light and mellow track to zone out to on a rainy day car ride or at 11:36 PM while you struggle to finish your last research paper of the semester due at midnight. You can stream/download the rest of the EP here.

Otherwise, keep up with Billy Moon on:

Ginger Ale & The Monowhales Announce EP Release Date

Toronto indie-pop band Ginger Ale & The Monowhales are gearing up to release their newest EP, BANG, on October 14th. The band exudes summer fun and modern-day indie sensibilities.

The music video for the lead single, “Home,” got over 200,000 views on Facebook when it debuted and gained the band some play on Global News, Sirius, and even a recognition from the mayor of Toronto, John Tory.

You can check out the music video right here and feel the fun for yourself:

"This is a record we've been piecing together for a long time," says Ginger Ale & The Monowhales' drummer Jordan Circosta. "We wanted to make something that bangs, something that clangs. Something that shows us at our happiest and most carefree, but also gives a taste of the darker side of things. We've had a lot of time to get to know each other and learn to make music as an ever-evolving group of friends. What you hear is the old and the new, side by side. Some of these tracks are songs we've been playing live for years, others have never been heard before. This is a thank you to everyone who believed in us when even we had lost hope, but this is also a nod to the future. We have a long road ahead of us, and no plans to slow down."

BANG EP Tracklist:
1) Home
2) Name For Myself
3) Let It Fall
4) White Walls

Altamina Shares New Single

Altamina has released a new single called “Under The Black Sea,” and the single is in support of the Canadian ambient rock band's upcoming LP, Tomorrow Morning Will Be Tonight, out June 11th.

Altamina (literally “high mines” in Portuguese) is currently François Graham on keys and lead vocals, Marco Gervais on guitars and backing vocals, Roxanne Miller on bass and backing vocals, and Matt Davis on drums.

Here is the tracklist to the upcoming Tomorrow Morning Will Be Tonight:
1. Under the Black Sea
2. Telescope
3. Storm
4. Light
5. Tonight
6. Bunkers
7. Follower
8. Liability
9. Drifter
10. Solstice

Altamina was originally started by Gervais and Graham as an experimental outlet while they were playing with post-rock/alternative band Surface of Atlantic. They recorded their debut album, Silver Landing In A Barren Land by themselves in Portugal in 2012.

They recently added Matt Davis and Roxanne Miller into the band in 2014, which broadened their musical experimentation.

On the new single, “Under The Black Sea,” Graham's smooth, low vocals are memorable and the music is layered with spacey synths and clean bass. It's a chilled-out and positive song.

You can listen to the song and pre-order the album here!
