Bordeen, an indie-pop band from just north of Toronto, have recently debuted the music video for their newest single, “Ocean tide.” Check it out below!
The band states, “This song is about accepting the things in life that are out of your control and being ok with that.” Conceptually, the video embodies this idea in many ways.
For starters, the opening shots are darker, with a grim feel. As the video progresses, the lighting becomes more full, poppy animation is introduced and the band begins to smile. The tone of the music progresses from low key to significantly more upbeat over the course of the song as well. The band says the video “…depicts a sense of longing, a hopeful tone, a yearning, a journey of discovery, moving from a place of overwhelm into a moment of solidarity.”
Of the songs message they say, ”Once you get past certain realities and experiences you can reach a deeper sense of joy.” This message is valuable and relevant to any listener, and Bordeen has represented it beautifully through “Ocean Tide,” which is the first single off of their upcoming album, Stiver.
Keep watch for the announcement of the release of “Stiver” in the near future, and check out their social media below for more!
