New Orleans blues rockers, Blonde Roses, have dropped a new single entitled “Bullet.”
Formerly known as The Wooden Wings, Blonde Roses are getting ready to release their debut EP. The lifelong group of friends turned band are heavily influenced by 60’s and 70’s rock and roll. They pepper in a southern charm as well, drawing from the blues, and southern rock.
Singer Molly Portier wants to deliver honest and inspiring lyrics to fans. “I want our fans to feel like they aren't alone in feeling alone at times.” Said Portier. “But I want to them to also know that it's going to be ok even if it doesn't feel like it at the time. That there's something bigger and better waiting for you if you look hard enough. Life isn't always going to be easy, but it's a blessing.”
“Bullet” is a solid track. Portier’s voice is powerful, but silky. The song is also aided by some pretty intense musical backing and excellent production value. Interesting harmonies are added in the form of a layering of Portier’s voice. Fans of Heart, Evanescence, and Halestorm can’t go wrong with Blonde Roses.
