Will Wood and the Tapeworms Drop New Video

Experimental New Jersey rockers Will Wood and the Tapeworms have just released a video for their song “2012." The track is the first single from their upcoming concept album Self-ish. The new record will feature collaborations with members of bands like Foxy Shazam, Frnkiero AndThe Cellabration, and The Dillinger Escape Plan.

Will Wood and the Tapeworms are based in Northern New Jersey, appearing on the scene in 2015. The group is known for their wild stage performances, and unusual instrumentations. Lead by the eccentric Will Wood, the band have become regulars in the NJ and NY indie scenes. They hope to begin national touring soon.

“2012” was directed by filmmaker Jesse Lazarus, who has a unique style. The video is erratic, bouncing around a number of different scenes starring Will Wood in various setting and outfits. The song is a fun funky number, but doesn’t hesitate to surprise you. The eclectic nature of both song and video fit the subject matter, in which Wood recounts his past, which left him with a “gaping hole in his memory where the entire year 2012 should be.”

Self-ish will drop on August 23, but it is available for pre-order right now! You can also check out the advance release show on August 19 at Mexicali Live in Teaneck, NJ.
