Frameworks Release New Single

Hailing from Gainesville, Florida, the ever-emotionally driven hardcore outfit Frameworks has recently released their third single off their upcoming label-debut album Smother.

The single, titled “Fear Of Missing Out," is a perfect sample for the album, as it encapsulates the essence of Frameworks’ sound. The song remains on an exuberant scale, mounting and intensifying as the song twists and turns between choruses.

The feeling is reminiscent to an adrenaline-fueled sprint through a hedge maze, occasionally getting off course but always returning to the path until you find your way out at the end. Stream the single below:

Set for a June 8th release, Smother will be coming out through Deathwish, Inc. Recorded by Matt McClellan (Being As An Ocean, O’Brother, etc.) at Glow In The Dark Studios and mastered by Brad Boatright (Converge, Self-Defense Family, etc.), the album is set to be a hit.

What we’ve heard thus far- this single, along with those released prior, called “Purge” and “Tangled”- sounds like it grows from the same musical roots as the likes of screamo revivalists Touche Amore and reputable melodic hardcore punks Title Fight, who each exemplify the style of implementing strained/rough vocals over intensely rocky, heart-racing melody and snarling, tooth-gritting hardcore punk alike. We can’t wait to hear if the remainder of the album’s eleven songs live up to these tenacious gems.

The album takes a departure from Frameworks’ last full-length effort, Loom, which came out in 2014, in a variety of ways. Namely, Loom featured a much more prominent influence from modern screamo, with ambient riffage as well as the writing and vocal delivery.

Smother is really something of a blend, taking cues from Loom as well as the band’s more recent two-song 7” Time Spent, which is marginally more twinkly post-hardcore from a musical standpoint. Therefore, it is a sum of the band’s prior efforts and it sounds truly fantastic. Don’t miss out!
