By The Thousands Reveal New Music Video

Metal’s breakout group, By The Thousands, released a video for their single off of their debut full-length record, Connect

These progressive metal giants hail from Twin Cities, Minnesota, and their newest music video is for their track “Revenant." Check out the video below!

The strong vocal range of Hondo Torres-Pena is something that can not be ignored. He brings a role to the band the band that fits perfectly with the instrumentals. At times you could think that he is influenced by an artist like Jamey Jasta (Hatebreed, Kingdom of Sorrow) and then he throws you a curveball with vocal styles that mimic that of Phil Bozeman (Whitechapel) or Phil Anselmo (Pantera, Down, Superjoint Ritual).

The rhythm section provides a heavy hitting back bone that isn't take shit from anyone, thanks to Adam Sullivan (bass) and Carlos Monserrate (drums) coming in and gettting us ready for the pit. Then the song breaks off into a sure-to-be “wall of death” favorite. Dustin Korth and John Riviere melt your face with more guitar strings than I could count (Hey, that’s not six!).

This track creates the perfect feeling a prog metal song without all the pomp and feathers. It gets right down into the grit and grind of Metal, without losing track of the immense talent these guys have as virtuosos.

The video, directed by Randy Edwards, provides a perfect visual of the world By The Thousands is trying to create. Displaying the immense talent of the entire group, without being too in your face about it. Edwards was able to capture the chaos and pandemonium of the song and put it on the screen. With this new video a June tour is set for the Mid-West of the U.S.

I am super pumped to see this band gain more attention. I hope that through touring and the magic of the internet these boys can find success!
