Russian Circles' new release, “Vorel” is what every metal single should be. Or every single made for every genre for that matter.
This track is our first taste of what the record is going to be. This song, like a calm before a storm, comes quietly into the night. First lurking, making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Dave Turncrantz, the percussionist, gives us the first warning of what will come with an intense drumroll. Ushering in what guitarist Mike Sullivan and bassist Dave Cook will unleash. Much like the track “Harper Lewis” off of Station, the song teases with percussion and brings everything full circle with the guitar and bass. This powerful track is what fans should have expected from the almighty post-metal trio.
We have the official audio video below!
This record is going to be like any other Russian Circles record, mind-blowing.
Their fan base need not to worry about a change of style or direction. Kurt Ballou is both co-producing and engineering this record. Working with such groups as Skeletonwitch and High on Fire, Kurt has a lot of “behind the scenes” experience under his belt. It is not expected that Kurt will make any drastic changes that will alter the band’s already strong sound. This album will be supported by Sargent House like Embros and Memorial.
With this long anticipated new album, Guidance, there is also a set of North American tour dates!
They range from San Francisco to Brooklyn and plan on adding more dates to this already extensive tour. This tour also includes two festival appearances at Levitation Fest Vancouver and Crucial Fest of Salt Lake City. To support them on this tour both Cloak Room and Helms Tree will be joining the tour, Cloak Room performing from June 16th- September 9th and Helms Room will take over until October 9th.
