Sleeptalk Release Music Video for Dizzying New Single "Young"

Electro-pop quartet Sleeptalk from Los Angeles has released a new music video for their single "Young." The track comes from their debut self-titled album that will be released on July 28th via Artery Recordings, which includes a combination of remastered versions of songs from their earlier EPs as well as brand new tracks.

Check out the video below!

Vocalist Anthony Fitzpatrick says "This song is about a specific night where 10 PM turned to 5 AM within minutes. It's about those nights where the only thing to look forward to is the rest of the night. The type of night when congenial is not only a word but a lifestyle. Stumbling around, lighting continuous cigarettes and enjoying a group of friends where nothing can go wrong, except the end of the night."

Jesea Lee Releases Dreamy New Acoustic Single "Great Lakes"

Photographer: Andrew Wells

Photographer: Andrew Wells

Cleveland-based indie pop songwriter Jesea Lee has released the third single from is upcoming debut EP, Sleepspent. "Great Lakes" is an acoustic track about Lee's fiancé and tells a dreamy story of one's willingness to endure anything to keep the person they love safe.

Check out the stream below!

"While recording my new EP I had three tracks done and it felt incomplete, like I needed to have a fourth song and I knew I wanted it to be an intimate acoustic track," says Lee. "When I sat down to write this song I had just gotten engaged, so the words poured out of me pretty quickly. After I recorded the guitar and vocals, it felt a little too simple, so my buddy Lance and I spent hours creating all these weird ambient sounds with feedback and different amps. I think it really adds to the mood and atmosphere of the song."

Pre-order Sleepspent now on iTunes or Bandcamp and get an instant download of the EP's first single "TV Glow." Definitely check out the new track, and then check out Lee's social media to keep up with his upcoming release!

Honey Anticipates New Album With Single Release

We've been following Pittsburgh based band, Honey, in anticipation of their upcoming album release, Mock Pop. Expected out on June 30th, the band is gearing up listeners by teasing out a single from the forthcoming LP.

Honey is now streaming "Send Me No Flowers," on their bandcamp, but you can check it out below!

Honey's Evan Meindl says of the track, "Utilizing the classic loud/soft/loud dynamic made popular in the 1990s, the song simultaneously captures and provokes it's audience with a combination of sickly sweet melodies and abrasive subject matter. Ascending and descending through a tense sonic landscape, the song ruminates on secrets of the past, kept in the ephemeral present, waiting to be unlocked in the uncertain future. Clocking in at a cool four minutes, "Send Me No Flowers" leaves the listener with a statement that they can not only relate to, but sing along to time and time again."

The track is an exciting anticipation for Honey's upcoming LP, out June 30th via Wild Kindness Records! To keep up with Honey and any more exciting news they have to share, check out their social media below!

Brand New Music From Silverstein

Toronto’s post-hardcore heavyweights, Silverstein, have released new single, "Lost Positives." The track is off their forthcoming release of the new full length, Dead Reflection. The band’s eighth studio LP is slated for release on July 14 via New Damage.

Alternative Press shared the dynamic new song along with an in-depth interview about the creation of Silverstein's harrowing new album. Check it out below!

Dead Reflection takes all of the band's strengths--pummeling riffs, explosive dynamic shifts, and hugely anthemic choruses--and ramps up their intensity, demonstrating exactly why Silverstein remain at the top of their game over 17 years into their career. "Lost Positives" is a perfect representation of Silverstein in 2017, its explosive guitar-work and massive chorus are clearly the product of a band that challenges themselves to evolve and create their best material with every release.

Silverstein will be hitting the ground running with a massive run of tour dates to support Dead Reflection, including performing on the entirety of Warped Tour and a lengthy run of European shows.

Solo EP On The Way From Indie Folk Artist Laura Brehm

Colorado indie-folk singer/songwriter Laura Brehm is releasing her first solo EP, called Breathe, slated for release on July 28th through Electric Bird Records. Brehm has done over 30 collaborations with artists in the electronic dance music genre, but her solo EP shows her softer side, leaning more towards the indie genre. As a solo artist, Brehm has been compared to the likes of Ellie Goulding, Colbie Callait, and Imogen Heap.

Laura Brehm is one of the most sought after vocalists in the electronic dance music sphere, with collabs with artists like Feint and TheFatRat under her belt. But she wants to show the world her own personal style with Breathe. Her unique sound combines indie, folk, and a little bit of electronic, a merging of genres that isn’t often seen in the music world. That’s why Laura created the label Electric Bird Records herself, in order for there to be a place where her two favorite types of music can come together. When you don’t fit the mold, break the mold.

That seems to be the case for Laura Brehm, who said about her solo EP, “I kept trying to give this EP to a producer to help me bring it to its highest potential, but things out of my control kept happening that led me away from that and I finally realized that the only person who can express this exactly the way I want to is myself.”

Her words prove her independence and her headstrong determination to make her own place in the music world. Keep your eyes open for the release of Breathe in late July (you can watch the teaser for the EP if you’re curious), and follow Laura Brehm for any forthcoming updates.

New Single Out from Caretaker

Caretaker is a new art-rock band on the rise, based in Brooklyn and ready to release their debut single, “Swallow.” Caretaker formed in 2016, and they are made up of Erin Pellnat on lead vocals, Eva Lawitts on bass, Alex Pulakos on guitar, Damian Sim on keyboard, and Chris Kasnow on drums.

With their first official single, Caretaker aims to show the world just who they are as musicians. They like rock songs with infectious energy, and “Swallow” certainly fits the bill.

Speaking on their new single, Caretaker had this to say: “’Swallow’ is a song about being trapped in a relationship where someone is successful in convincing you that you are constantly wrong. This gets to the point where you believe everything they say, gladly taking punishment and abuse from them and wrongfully accepting that you deserve it. You know that you would feel completely contented and sane if you just cut ties so that their influence can disappear and you can set yourself free.”

With a powerful message that’s sure to speak to the souls of hundreds of fans, “Swallow” is a promising debut for Caretaker and leaves us all wondering what we’ll get to hear from them next. They have a couple of live shows coming up in New York, so catch them if you can and don’t miss your chance to hear “Swallow” performed live!

6/19 – Pinebox Rock Shop – Brooklyn, NY
8/19 – Arlene’s Grocery – New York, NY

New Music Video From Lakeshore Out Now

Connecticut-based rock band Lakeshore, formed by Emmure founders/brothers Ben and Joe Lionetti, recently announced details for their debut EP, 41 (out 8/4/17 via Outerloop Records).

The band recently partnered with Alternative Press to premiere the official music video for their newest single off the EP,  "Future." The video is a call-to-arms of sorts, penning the line "we are the future" along with stunning imagery of the marches and political climate of the year.

Check it out below!

This is what Ben Lionetti had to say about the video: "In a time where the world seems so divided and our generation's words sometimes seem to fall on deaf ears, we wanted to touch on subjects that we feel strongly about as well as provide a positive message. Regardless of race, gender, political view the bottom line is we are all here now, we are all human beings with dreams and aspirations and the decisions we make now directly affect the future of our world. It may sound cliche but it's very true. It's a message that means a lot to the band and something that came about very  naturally from writing to filming - Thank you to our friends around the world who helped us with the video we had a lot of fun making it and we hope you enjoy it!"

Vault 51 Drops Second Single "Magnolia" & Announce Debut EP

Vault 51, an alt-rock five-piece from Atlanta, Georgia, are making their debut with the announcement of their first EP, Kid, and the release of their second single “Magnolia.” This new track comes off the heels of the band’s first single, “Thirty Six.” Both songs are from Vault 51’s EP, which is slated for release on July 20th. If you’re looking for new music to listen to, keep Vault 51 in mind – “Magnolia” offers a glimpse of their personal style, and also gives fans a sneak peek of what’s to come with the full release of Kid

Check out "Magnolia" below!

About “Magnolia,” the band had this to say: “We chose to release ‘Magnolia’ as a single because we felt it was an appropriate song to reflect the overall theme that our EP gives off. That is, the idea that as we grow older, life seems to pass us by more and more quickly. Life is constantly ticking by, whether you want it to or not. And we spend so much of that time completely wasted. Everyone wants to create something beautiful before they die. To leave their mark on the world. We all start from nothing and strive to grow into something beautiful, much like a magnolia flower.”

With those impassioned words and that inspiring message (a message that I vibe pretty heavily with, TBH), “Magnolia” makes for a successful release. And Kid is sure to be a fantastic debut EP for Vault 51.

Listen to “Magnolia,” and keep up with Vault 51 on social media for more updates.

"I wanna be Tim Tebow" and "nothing/no one/no distinction" are the most recent endeavors for Where Is My Spaceship, and both follow suit in Mostly Crocodile's footsteps. The DIY punk mentality is strong with both of these tracks. While they aren't completely punk, the tracks both have an indie, garage rock type feel.

Both tracks are streaming above, and are anticipation tracks for Where Is My Spaceship's upcoming album, DIEFALLING. For more on Where Is My Spaceship and what they're up to, check out the links below so you don't miss anything they have to offer!

Fathom Farewell Release Their New Video Take This World

Fathom Farewell is a rock ‘n roll/blues-core band based out of Worcester, Massachusetts, and they have just released the music video for their song “Take This World” off their new EP, Decomposition.

Check it out below!

The band had a little something to say about the video, “We put a whole lot of time into this song and video combined. Fathom Farewell was a somewhat different band when we initially recorded the song, yet throughout the process of building this work we have the pleasure of presenting to you today, we have grown into something that we believe will make a difference for people craving a response to the environment in which we currently reside. Our aim with this video is to let people know that we are all in this together, we all suffer, we all crave the next step or something that can truly satisfy whatever gap may be left inside of us, and we all inevitably struggle together.”

That last sentence really gets me. “We all crave something that can truly satisfy whatever gap may be left inside of us.” We all want something to fill the void. At least I know I do. And sometimes the best way to fill that void is with music.

You can listen to “Take This World” and watch the video through the link. Fathom Farewell also has a couple of live shows coming up, so be sure to follow them on social media for updates.

New Single from Amanda Markley ft. Will Pugh

Seattle songwriter Amanda Markley has released a new single, called “Ways to Go,” a year after debuting her self-titled EP. The new track features Cartel frontman Will Pugh, who also produced the song.

Check it out below!

“Ways to Go” is about relationships: the ups and downs, the highs and lows, and the journeys people take together to grow and change. Recording the single was the first time Markley and Pugh worked together, and Markley says it “has a good message because it’s about getting through the ups and downs of a relationship and how life is always a journey.”

Her own life has certainly been a journey. Markley wasn’t always a singer. She used to ride horses, but after a devastating spinal injury (I’ve been there – it sucks) she had to scale back on her passion for horseback riding and channel her emotion into something else. She coped with her injury by writing in a journal, which lead to her inspiration for writing music. And since then, she’s come a long way. Markley strives to inspire people to follow their dreams, which is the foremost message in many of her lyrics. “Ways to Go” may be about relationships, but it also encompasses Markley’s passion for embracing life and all that comes with it.

Listen to “Ways to Go” through the exclusive release with Substream Magazine, and keep up with Amanda Markley on social media for more updates from the soulful singer.

Shatterproof Kicks Off Summer Tour With New Single

Kicking off their Best Summer Ever Tour with Never Let This Go, Shatterproof support their latest single "So Punk" off their forthcoming release. The tour will weave its way through the US this June hitting the Northwest and Midwest before ending on June 25th in Dallas, TX.

Off the band's forthcoming release, "So Punk" was recorded at The Blasting Room, produced/engineered by Chris Beeble, and mixed by Mark Needham at Red Oak Studios with assistant mix engineer by Tyler Spratt.

Check it out below!

The band details their "So Punk" single which premiered exclusively with New Noise Magazine, by stating, '"So Punk" is one of our favorite songs we have ever written. It's high energy, fast and super fun to play live. It's about the struggles of a working artist, about how art doesn't have the value it used to have, and not just in the music world. But while exploring these struggles of artists, it has a message of hope, that "I'm not down... I'm not out." We think this song sets the stage well for the rest of the EP, and we have been dying to have people finally listen to it."

Stargazer Share New Single & Music Video

Stargazer are back on the scene, and they're ready to make waves. The band has announced their debut full length -Tui La- coming this Summer, and is leading the big news with a brand new music video for the first single, "Temple of Solace."

Check it out below!

Old time fans will find a step up from the band's previous EP, while newcomers have a whole lot to discover. Anyone familiar with The Contortionist's latest album, Devin Townsend or even TesseracT will recognize some of Stargazer's influences and is bound to find something to keep them tied in until the album drops.

Matt Copp (vocals), opened up about the track: "Temple of Solace has some of the oldest riffs we've ever written, stretching back to before Stargazer was even a band. Slow and expressive, it has a very different weight than the rest of our material. It's about becoming lost in the struggle to escape the demons that pursue us, when sometimes we're the ones chasing ourselves in prisons we build."
